Heracles is a polled, black badgerface ram, born a single May 02, 04 to sire AI FFC-250M and FFC - 210L.  250M is a Flekkurson and there are very few Flekkur offspring left.  Flekkur was a spotted black AI sire with a beefy build, above average fleece quantity and was very important to the coloured North American Flock.  Dam 210L was a triplet Hynkill Daughter named Blue.  AI ram Hynkill is credited with bringing in the "frosted" variation of the mouflon pattern to North America as well as his exceptional conformation and muscular build.  We are very happy to have added Heracles to our flock and can't wait to see his lambs.

Vidar, is a co-expressed badgerface/mouflon patterned ram by Dakota and Thora.  His name means "forest warrior", although commanding in the ram pen, he is quite gentle and easy to work with.  He has a thick silky fleece that spins to a soft grey.  His mother is a very milky ewe with great maternal qualities.  Looking forward to seeing his first lambs in 2011.  He will throw either badger or the mouflon pattern to his lambs.

Klaki is a polled twin born 05/02/08.  He is the son of Freyja and National Champion Icelandic Ram, Preston.  Klaki and his sister were two of the fastest growing twins of '08.  He is a large framed, long bodied ewe with excellent harmony and a lustrous, plentiful fleece with medium soft togg.  Klaki has the AI bloodlines of Arfi, Dimon, Eir, Buri, Hunn and Skreppur for a total of 87.45% AI.  He may be heterozygus and carry the solid pattern and spotting.  Klaki was not used for the 2008 breeding season, but we are looking forward to using him in '09.

Morris is a moorit, polled, twin by AI ram Mori from breeder Alan Leighton of "The Creeks Edge" Icelandic Sheep farm in South Dakota. He placed first in his class of 15 at the 2007 Michigan Fiber Festival.  He has excellent  stout, meaty conformation and dense, long fleece with medium fine togg. Morris has Mori, Askur and Heli AI bloodlines.   We are very excited to be able to use him this breeding season, Morris will be moving on to New York in August.  Some of his lambs will be for sale, but we will definitely be keeping some.  Morris is a half brother to TCE B3P 274S - Samson, who is on our retired ram page.  Samson is the sire of Mora and Freyr and grand-sire of Lilja.

We are very pleased to have Preston from Jager Farm.  Preston is 50.00% Arfi and 25.00% Buri for 75% AI bloodlines.  He was the 2005 National Champion Icelandic Ram in Rhinebeck, New York.  His show scores on the 10 point system are: head 8.0, neck and shoulders 8.0, chest 8.0, loin 8.5, leg 17.0, wool 8.5, feet 8.0, harmony 9.0, total score 83.0.  The show judge Guðmundur Jóhannesson said 801R could be a breeding ram back home in Iceland!  Preston's large frame, calm demeanor, lustrous fleece and "harmony" is exactly what we look for in our rams and in our ewe flock.  We were happy tpo use him for the 2007 breeding season and look forward to his lambs.

Rams Used in 2006

BigBoySept2606206.jpg

Big Boy, came to us from "Jager Farm" in Massachusetts, a moorit quadruplet Born 3/27/01.  We were so honored to have this magnificent Ram. He had everything, conformation, beautiful moorit colour with silver and blond streaks and personality.  An AI son of Heli, this ram had copious amounts of long thick medium to fine thel and medium to coarse thog, excellent meat characteristics with thick shoulders, loin, rump and leg.  We have kept several of his lambs in our ewe flock to carry on all his wonderful qualities.  Big Boy was very calm, gentle, yet commanded respect in the flock, truly a once in a lifetime ram.
Sadly 198L, "Big Boy" passed away Autumn '06 and we will miss him terribly, he was a good old friend.  198L was exposed to Nanna and she appears to be bred so we are cautiously optimistic. These will be his last lambs.

Sven.jpg

A polled triplet spotted black ram born 4/19/05, Sven came to us from Alan Leighton's "The Creeks Edge" in South Dakota. He has a nice conformation, beautiful tall and muscular ram. True to the statements made about Heli producing 80% more wool in his offspring, this Heli grandson has wool!  Sven also has the silky smoothness of his paternal grandfather Eir, the combination works,  producing a long, thick and lustrous fleece on this ram with medium to fine thel and medium thog.  Sven was used on Mona, Margret, and Monika.  These will be his first lambs.
